Anchor & Connect Coaching, Evidence-based tools to move you from relationship anxiety to an anchored life.

  • What is Integrative Attachment Theory?

IAT (Integrative Attachment Theory) is the North Star for our journey. It is contemporary and holistic framework developed by practioners - I utilize the works of Thais Gibson - who expanded upon the foundational research of Bowlby and Ainsworth by combining it with insights from modern psychology with a strong focus on the subconscious mind & neuroplasticity. This structured approach helps to identify core wounds, personal & relational needs, emotional regulation & boundaries / communication in order to build a strong foundation of self-esteem, self-trust & self-compassion with a goal of helping individuals and couples transition from an insecure attachment style to a secure attachment style by fostering self awareness.

  • What is the Difference Between Therapy & Coaching?

While both professions are supportive, they differ significantly in scope & focus.

    Therapy (The Past & Diagnosis):

MH therapy focuses on healing the past, addressing trauma, diagnosing & treating mental health disorders. The focus is often on deep, historical wounds & achieving emotional stability. It repairs the hull of the ship.

Coaching: (The Present & Action): Relationship coaching focuses on present day relationship patterns & future goals.I help you identify your attachment style, teach you concrete skills & create an actionable plan for implementing new behaviors to improve your relationship to self & others. Coaching is the compass to identify your North Star, master the currents & confidently navigate towards the horizon of your choosing.

Disclaimer: Coaching is not a replacement for mental health therapy. Please seek the services of a licensed mental health professional for the treatment & diagnosis of MH disorders.

  • Why Should I Know My Attachment Style?

Understanding your attachment style is the most powerful tool you can have because it provides a map to your relational triggers & allows you to predict your own subconscious responses! It normalizes your experiences. For example, a need to withdraw from certain situations is not a flaw, but a survival skill learned long ago. It can also help to identify certain cycles or patterns that different attachment styles find themselves in such as the anxious / avoidant trap. It also provides a secure roadmap through the practice of deliberately practicing the thoughts & actions of a secure person through a variety of modalities.

My ultimate goal is to give you the skills and tools you need so that I successfully "work myself out of a job."

Because every captain’s journey and baseline is unique, there is no one-size-fits-all timeline. However, because we focus on targeted, evidence-based strategy, most clients drop a permanent anchor in their new habits within 1 to 3 months of collaborative work.

You stay only as long as it takes to steady your ship
